AAC includes all forms of communication that we use while we speak. For those who are unable to speak or for whom speech is hard for others to understand, AAC provides the tools or strategies to be a successful communicator.

Communication is the foundation.
Before we address AAC needs, we attend to how the child communicates now. What are the child's specific and unique speech and language abilities? How do they interact with others? We do this through interview, observation and assessment.
|
We build relationships.
In therapy, we get to know your child. What they like. What they don't like. We work with you and your family to design goals that are important to you.
|
We work with your local therapists and school team to develop a communication plan that all stakeholders can agree on. Then, we provide the tools and training so there is consistency of support across settings. |
